EPS Group are seeking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager from a Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil engineering background to support the delivery of multiple wastewater programmes. This role is ideal for a Project Engineer or Site Engineer looking to progress into project management within a dynamic and growing organisation.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will support the coordination and delivery of projects from contract award through to completion and client handover.
Roles and Responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager in delivering projects safely, on time, within scope, and budget

Support coordination of all project phases including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover

Liaise with design teams to monitor progress of deliverables such as GA drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, schematics and technical submissions

Assist in procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment in line with project requirements

Support project planning activities including preparation and updating of project programmes and progress reports

Attend and contribute to site and client meetings, ensuring actions are tracked and closed out

Monitor project costs, assist with cost tracking, valuations, and change management processes

Coordinate site activities alongside supervisors and contractors, ensuring efficient delivery of works

Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, supporting implementation of RAMS and site procedures

Assist in preparation and collation of project documentation including technical files, O&M manuals, commissioning documentation, and H&S files

Support commissioning activities and client training during project handover phases

Provide regular updates to the Project Manager on progress, risks, and issues

Assist with tendering activities where required, including technical input, pricing support, and programme development

Maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Carry out duties in accordance with EPS policies and procedures
Skills / Attributes

Experience in water, wastewater, utilities, or industrial projects (design, construction, or operations)

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Good understanding of multi-disciplinary project delivery, including mechanical, electrical, and civil aspects

Proactive problem-solving approach with a "can do" attitude

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team

Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment with increasing levels of responsibility

Commercial awareness with an understanding of cost control and project performance

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project); familiarity with CAD software is advantageous

Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and equipment is desirable
Education / Experience Requirements

Third-level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or similar

2+ years' experience in a project engineering, site engineering, or coordination role (preferred)

Experience working on infrastructure or industrial projects is advantageous
