Job Overview
The Food and Beverage Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of some/all food and beverage outlets within the hotel during their shift. This includes restaurants, bars, room service, banqueting, and events. The Food & Beverage Duty Manager ensures exceptional guest experiences, staff supervision, adherence to health and safety regulations, and efficient service delivery in alignment with the hotel's standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support all F&B HOD’s & Assistant F&B HOD’s leaders as required during assigned shifts.
- To supervise the closing down of events, ensuring that staff are working efficiently and event spaces are left in an immaculate condition.
- Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction through service excellence and proactive problem-solving.
- Lead and motivate F&B staff, providing on-the-job training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings, allocate duties, and monitor staffing levels in absence of Department Heads and Assistant Department Heads.
- Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally, resolving issues promptly following the QIAF process.
- Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Oversee cleanliness, presentation, and readiness of all F&B areas in accordance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, inventory management and stock takes where required.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and standards of service.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and hotel SOPs.
- Monitor financial performance during shifts (e.g., upselling, cost control).
- Prepare end-of-shift reports and communicate key operational issues to senior management.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within food and beverage operations, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication.
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of F&B systems (POS, inventory management) and health & safety standards.
- Flexible working hours, including weekends, nights and public holidays.
- Relevant hospitality qualification or certification is an advantage.
