Full-Time Store Manager

Gino’s Gelato Waterford is seeking a reliable, professional and customer-focused Full-Time Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy gelato store. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards in customer service, food safety, staff management, stock control and overall store presentation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, hospitality/retail experience and the ability to manage a fast-paced customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Store Manager will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the store, including:
- Managing daily store operations and ensuring the store is clean, organised and fully prepared for service.
- Leading, training and motivating staff to deliver excellent customer service.
- Preparing staff rosters and ensuring appropriate staffing levels during busy and quiet periods.
- Ensuring all HACCP, food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures are completed and recorded correctly.
- Managing stock levels, placing orders, checking deliveries and reducing wastage.
- Ensuring all products are correctly labelled, dated and stored according to food safety requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of store presentation, cleanliness and product display.
- Handling customer queries or complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Monitoring staff performance, timekeeping, attendance and workplace standards.
- Ensuring cash handling, till procedures and end-of-day reports are completed accurately.
- Supporting sales growth by encouraging excellent service, upselling and strong product knowledge.
- Reporting maintenance issues, equipment faults or operational concerns to senior management.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety procedures and employment standards.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- Previous experience in a supervisor, assistant manager or store manager role, preferably in food service, hospitality, café, dessert, retail or quick-service environment.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good understanding of hygiene, food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, evenings and public holidays as required.
- Good level of English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to manage staff fairly and professionally.
- A positive attitude, reliability and willingness to take responsibility for store standards.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Previous experience with gelato, ice cream, dessert, café or food retail operations.
- HACCP or food safety training.
- Experience with staff rostering, stock ordering and cash management.
