The Role
We are currently seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Checkout & Customer Service Desk Assistant. This is a fast-paced role that combines front-of-store checkout duties with customer service desk responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
● Operating tills and processing customer transactions accurately.
● Providing exceptional customer service to all customers.
● Handling customer queries, returns, exchanges, and refunds in line with company policies.
● Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls as required.
● Assisting customers with product availability and general store information.
● Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional checkout and customer service area.
● Supporting colleagues across the store during busy periods.
● Ensuring all cash handling procedures are followed correctly.
What We’re Looking For
● Previous retail, checkout, or customer service experience is desirable.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● A positive attitude and a willingness to help customers and colleagues.
● Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
● Ability to work efficiently in a busy retail environment.
● Comfortable using computerised till and point-of-sale systems.
● Flexible and dependable with a strong work ethic.
