Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Assistant Artisan Baker to prepare and bake a variety of breads and baked goods. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of baking techniques, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to producing high-quality products while following food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare doughs, batters, and fillings according to recipes and production schedules
- Bake breads, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure product quality
- Shape, score, and finish products consistently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery and equipment
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP)
- Manage ingredient stock and report shortages
- Assist with product development and seasonal items when required
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as an Pastry Chef / Commis Chef or Baker or in a similar role
- Knowledge of baking technique s, fermentation, and oven operation
- Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy ingredients
