The management team at Elderwell Ltd are excited to announce that we are expanding our team to help support our clients and our facilitators, in delivering therapeutic recreation to older persons in residential care settings.
This is an exciting role for someone who is highly motivated, experienced in therapeutic recreation, an effective communicator and influencer and enthusiastic to lead others to deliver the best that therapeutic recreation can bring for people in residential care settings.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversight of the Elderwell TR program, evaluation, development, production, associated training, facilitator support, monitoring standard of delivery and continual improvement.
Collaborate and assist the facilitation team in maintaining Elderwells core philosophy of delivering a quality service and valuing our clients as a priority.
Facilitation of all therapeutic recreation (TR) sessions and other Elderwell services across all residential care settings where Elderwell operates. Provide facilitation cover, when required.
Support the implement of the Elderwell TR programs, recreation activities, other services and occupational pursuits for all Elderwell offerings.
Deliver the Elderwell facilitator training.
Support and develop the individual Elderwell facilitators skill sets and Continuing Professional Development. Utilise mentorship and performance review to train, develop and support facilitators.
Support the facilitation team through clear communication, observation supervisions, interaction and support, facilitation of team meetings and the development of a support network.
Care facility / external stakeholders (DON, Nursing management, residents’ families) liaison to ensure their needs are met.
Perform observation supervisions
- To assess the TR benefit and effectiveness of Elderwell sessions.
- To support facilitators in delivering the Elderwell standard of service.
Acting as the Safeguarding officer for Elderwell.
Provide clinical reports to management.
Role Requirements:
* Minimum level 7 degree in the health / social care sector
* Prior experience of working with the elderly is essential
* Full clean driving license
A genuine interest in promoting the wellbeing of older people in residential care.
