This position includes participation in our on-call rota. You will normally be on call for one full week in every ten, covering out-of-hours emergency callouts, including evenings and the weekend.

This role would suit someone with practical mechanical or fitting experience who is confident working independently, dealing with customers and responding calmly when machinery has broken down.
Previous hydraulic hose experience is helpful, but it is not essential. Full training will be provided to the right person.

The role
Based from Clondalkin, you will travel to customers throughout Dublin and Leinster to attend planned work and emergency breakdowns.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing hydraulic hose faults on construction, industrial and mobile machinery
- Safely removing and replacing damaged hydraulic hoses
- Manufacturing replacement hoses in your mobile workshop
- Checking hydraulic systems for safety and correct operation
- Working safely and following site-specific procedures
- Completing electronic job and sales dockets on site
- Communicating clearly and professionally with customers
- Maintaining your mobile workshop, tools and stock
- Helping to promote Hose Doctor’s services
- Participating in the on-call rota, normally one week in every ten
What we are looking for
You should have:
- Practical mechanical or fitting experience
- Experience using hand tools and spanners
- Confidence working on machinery, vehicles, plant or industrial equipment
- The physical ability to work safely with heavy tools and equipment
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail
- A professional and helpful manner with customers
- Good spoken and written English
- A full EU driving licence held for at least 12 months
- The right to work in Ireland
- A willingness and ability to participate in the on-call rota
Experience as a plant fitter, agricultural mechanic, HGV mechanic, motor mechanic, maintenance fitter, mechanical fitter or service technician would be particularly relevant.
