Responsibilities
As a Senior Chef at Killerig, your responsibilities will include:
To maintain, manage the required high operational and personal standard of hygiene and presentation at all times in compliance with the Food Safety Act and the IDDSI
Compliance to the Health and Safety Act and COSHH regulations
Ensure the correct disposal and storage of all food items as directed by the chef in charge
Monitor and record temperatures of fridges and freezers, hot cabinets, serveries as directed by the chef in charge
Ensure that assured safe catering principals are followed at all times encompassing legal requirements of the Food Safety Act
To ensure that all foods served under your control are served and held at the required temperatures (probed and recorded)
Ensure that decanting methods and fridge discipline are strictly adhered to
Ensure accurate records are maintained as directed by GEC, to over see EHO inspections and action planning of reports within each facility
To keep a high standard and ensuring the residents needs are meet at all times as best and as dignified as one can
Flexibility in the role

Requirements
Previous Experience
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Chef
Food Safety Knowledge
Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, food safety regulations, and best practices in food preparation and storage.
Dietary and Nutritional Awareness
Experience preparing meals for individuals with special dietary requirements, including modified textures, allergies, and therapeutic diets.
Leadership and Team Management
Proven ability to supervise, support, and motivate kitchen staff while maintaining high standards of food quality and service.
Organisation and Communication Skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage stock, control food costs, and communicate effectively with residents, management, and multidisciplinary teams.
