O’Brien Landscaping is an established, family-run landscaping business delivering high-quality landscape construction and maintenance projects across Dublin and surrounding areas.
Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting for an experienced and dependable Truck Driver / HIAB Operator to join our team based in Malahide, North County Dublin.
This is a permanent, long-term role offering a varied and active working environment, steady work, and the opportunity to be part of a professional and supportive team.
The Role
This position centres on the safe delivery of landscape materials, plants, machinery, and associated site supplies to active project sites and clients as required.
The successful candidate will also support day-to-day yard and depot operations, helping to ensure the smooth movement of materials and equipment between the depot and site teams.
This is more than a driving role — we are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, practical, and professional, and who can represent the company well on live sites and with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver landscape materials, plants, machinery, and site supplies to project sites and client locations
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials and equipment
- Operate HIAB, forklift, and other loading/unloading equipment where authorised
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly
- Ensure all deliveries are recorded accurately and paperwork is completed correctly
- Maintain high standards of vehicle care, road safety, and site safety
- Work closely with site teams, management, and depot staff to support operational efficiency
- Assist with general depot and yard duties as required
- Drive alternative company vehicles where operationally required
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, site managers, and the public
Working Hours
- Typically 8–10 hour shifts
- Primarily Monday to Friday
- Some weekend work may be required
- Overtime available
Essential Requirements
- Previous truck delivery experience
- Full clean Category C / C1 licence
- Up-to-date Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of safe loading and unloading procedures
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic
- HIAB experience (cert required)
- Good communication and people skills
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to support wider logistics needs
- Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland
Desirable
- Forklift experience
- Experience delivering to live construction or landscaping sites
- Good knowledge of the Dublin road network
- Experience working in a yard or depot environment
