Registrar in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Intellectual disability (CAMHS ID)
Job Summary
This post is based at St Michaels House and it is a specific purpose contract of 6 months at 37 hours per week.
Main Duties of the Post
This is a Registrar post which is of 6 months duration with the possibility of extending the post by a further 6 months in 2027.This post is set in one of the largest CAMHS ID teams in the country, which provided mental health supports to children with a moderate to profound disability in Dublin North and Dublin North City. It is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the speciality of CAMHS ID with an established CAMHS ID team.
The CAMHS ID team work with the 9 CDNTs in this area and the Registrar will work with the CAMHS ID team to assess and diagnose, provide a treatment plan and in the case of pharmaceutical treatment to monitor the children closely. This is a community-based team, and the team have bases in Ballymun and Coolock. In addition to providing out-patient clinics in these centres, the registrar will provide clinical care via visits to homes, schools, respite and residential services.
Essential Qualification and Experience
- The applicant must be registered with the Irish Medical Council.
- Previous experience in Psychiatry and it experience with CAMHS is desirable.
- MRCPsych or MCPsychI is desired but not essential.
Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with the June 2026 HSE revised consolidated REGISTRAR pay scale (Point 1; 70,276 Point 6; 82,756 per annum based on working a 37 hour week).
