We are seeking an experienced Accounts Technician to join our growing accountancy practice. The successful candidate will have experience working in an Irish accountancy practice and be confident in preparing accounts to draft stage for a varied portfolio of clients, including sole traders and limited companies.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements to draft stage for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Prepare and reconcile bookkeeping records using Xero.
- Complete bank reconciliations, VAT reconciliations, and control account reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Assist with the preparation of income tax and corporation tax computations and returns.
- Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries.
- Prepare working papers and supporting schedules for accounts preparation.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with Revenue and Companies Registration Office (CRO) requirements.
- Assist with year-end accounts and management accounts where required.
- Support senior accountants and managers with client assignments.
- Keep up to date with Irish accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Accounting Technician (ATI) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in an Irish accountancy practice.
- Strong experience using Xero accounting software.
- Experience preparing accounts to draft stage.
- Experience working with sole traders and limited companies.
- Good understanding of Irish VAT, Income Tax, and Corporation Tax.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and client relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with additional accounting software such as Bright Accounts
- Experience preparing management accounts.
- Knowledge of payroll processing.
- Familiarity with CRO filings.
- Experience with Ros
