Head of Housekeeping Required
Brampton Care and Rehabilitation Centre are looking for an experienced Head of Housekeeping to join our dedicated team. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring our nursing home consistently meets the highest standards of cleanliness, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and HIQA compliance, while supporting the comfort and dignity of our residents.
About the Role
As Head of Housekeeping, you will lead and support the housekeeping team, ensuring that every area of the nursing home is maintained to the highest standard. You will carry out regular spot checks, complete HIQA housekeeping audits, oversee staff rosters, and work closely with the Person in Charge (PIC) to ensure continuous quality improvement. The successful candidate will work 8 hour days and shifts inc weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the housekeeping team.
- Ensure residents' bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, communal areas, and all public spaces are maintained to an exceptional standard.
- Carry out regular spot checks to ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) policies and procedures.
- Monitor residents' rooms to ensure wardrobes and personal belongings are neat, organised, and maintained with dignity and respect.
- Complete and maintain all housekeeping HIQA audits and quality assurance documentation.
- Develop action plans following audits and ensure improvements are implemented.
- Prepare and manage housekeeping staff rosters.
- Report housekeeping, maintenance, health and safety, or resident environment concerns promptly to the Person in Charge (PIC).
- Support and train housekeeping staff to maintain excellent standards.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, maintenance, catering, and management teams to provide the best possible environment for residents.
What We're Looking For
- Previous supervisory or management experience in housekeeping, ideally within a nursing home, hospital, healthcare, or residential care setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards.
- Experience completing audits and maintaining compliance records.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A compassionate, resident-focused approach with a commitment to maintaining residents' dignity and wellbeing.
- Good IT skills and experience preparing staff rosters.
