We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter to join our Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter at Dawn Meats Charleville you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Key Duties and Responsibilities / Objectives:

Conducting routine maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of beef processing equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, motor/gearbox and packaging machinery.

Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshooting faults, and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.

Collaborating with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring equipment longevity and optimal performance.

Replacing and repairing defective components, such as motors, bearings, belts, and hydraulic systems.

Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and company policies.

Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
- To complete training and review of SOPs on compliance.
Your role will see you tackle a wide range of business challenges in a busy Maintenance/Engineering environment.
Qualifications:
The ideal Candidate will have or demonstrate:

Time-served Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) or Time-served mechanic demonstrating a high level of competency, with a minimum of 2 years post apprenticeship experience.

Experienced in hydraulics and pneumatics.

Experience of machines & process equipment, controls & automation.

Experience in electrical & mechanical installations, maintenance and refrigeration systems.

Can demonstrate good communication, both written & oral skills, which meet the requirements of the job in full.

Good troubleshooting ability; to logically follow a line of thought for problem solving;

Holds a full driving license;

Ability to work on their own initiative, with minimum supervision, as well as part of a team;

Has a flexible approach to working hours (overtime and on call).
