Limerick City and County Council performs a significant role in shaping the strategic vision of the City and County. It provides a diverse, comprehensive and evolving range of services to citizens, businesses and visitors to the county which include the provision of housing, planning, development, environmental, transportation, enterprise, leisure and community services.
Limerick City and County Council is at a key point in its development. The Council has 40 elected members and a directly elected executive mayor. It is looking to the future where arts plays a leading role in the community. The focus being how best to strategically support developing the arts across the city and county, working within the context of Limerick Development Plan 2022 – 2028, Limerick Economic and Community Plan, Limerick Cultural Strategy 2016-2030, Limerick City and County Heritage Plan 2030, Creative Ireland and Making Great Art Work
Limerick City and County Council invites applications from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel for the post of Assistant Arts Officer. Permanent and temporary contracts for the positon of Assistant Arts Officer will be filled from this panel for the duration of the panel’s lifetime.
The initial position to be filled will be permanent position of Assistant Arts Officer with responsibility for Public Art / Per Cent for Arts scheme coordination and arts development.
The Assistant Arts Officer is a key member of staff reporting to the Arts Officer within the Rural Community and Culture Directorate.
