About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Pharmaceutical Assistant to join our team, with a specific focus on supporting nursing homes and long-term care facilities. The role involves close collaboration with nursing staff, accurate medication preparation, and proactive support in managing patient therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense and prepare medications for nursing home residents with precision and care
- Collaborate with nursing home teams to manage Kardex, MAR charts, dosage adjustments and changes
- Ensure full compliance with PSI standards
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates
- Assist with audits and contribute to continuous improvement in medication safety
- Provide respectful, professional service to elderly and vulnerable patients
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Irish pharmacy practice, ideally with nursing home expertise
- Strong understanding of Irish healthcare schemes (GMS, DPS, LTI, HD)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in pharmacy software
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- MPS dispensing system
- Fluent in English (C1 Level required with certification)
- Living in the nearby
