Occupational Therapist (Staff Grade)

Permanent Contract - 35 hours per week
Location: Kildare Town, Co. Kildare
Occupational Therapist Salary Scale: Point 1 €45,514 to max Point 12 €62,286 DOE
In line with the HSE National Programme for Progressing Disability Services , Kare is the Lead Agency for the provision of supports across South Kildare West Wicklow. The successful candidate will join an established Interdisciplinary CDNT providing quality, evidenced based and family-centred supports for children and young people aged 0-18 years, who present with complex needs within an interdisciplinary framework, to support their development to enable active participation in community life. The Occupational Therapist develops and provides a quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service.
Responsibilities

Integrate Occupational Therapy skills with current theory and relevant supporting evidence based knowledge

Select, implement, analyse the outcomes of standardised and non-standardised assessment that identify occupational and functional needs in the area of self-care, productivity and leisure

Collaborate skilfully with children, their families and other team members to identify goals

Apply clinical reasoning to plan, grade, implement and modify interventions that are outcome based and relevant to person's goals

Facilitate individual intervention, education sessions with parents or other support staff

Ensure all records and report writing are up to date and available if required

Provide flexible interventions to meet the varied needs of the children you support

Actively promote collaborative working relationships within multidisciplinary and inter-professional teams

Prioritise and manage a caseload under supervision.
Requirements
-
Hold an Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the OT Registration Board at CORU
-
Be CORU registered
- Demonstrate a level of clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role in line with relevant legislation and standards

Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate in partnership with others
-
Demonstrate the ability to lead on planning, organising and delivering services in an efficient, effective and resourceful manner, within a model of patient centred
- Must have a full, valid drivers licence and access to your own vehicle

Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
Desirable criteria
-
Relevant post graduate experience and/or under-graduate placement experience in a paediatric/disability setting.

Experience of interdisciplinary team working

Experience delivering training to families and carers
