Night Shift Cleaning Operative
Sean Loughnane's (Galway) Ltd is a leading meat processing company based in Galway. We are currently seeking a Night Shift Cleaning Operative to join our team.
Shift Hours: 9:30pm – 6:30am
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all production areas and equipment within our manufacturing facility are cleaned and sanitised to the highest standards. You will work in accordance with company hygiene procedures, cleaning instructions, and food safety requirements under the guidance of the Cleaning Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning and sanitising of production areas and equipment to the required company standards.
- Operate cleaning equipment, including power hoses, brushes, wipes, and other cleaning tools, safely and effectively.
- Follow all cleaning procedures, work instructions, and cleaning cards to ensure the correct methods and chemicals are used for each piece of equipment.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with training and company procedures.
- Ensure all control panels and electrical equipment are properly protected before using water hoses or pressure washing equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections of equipment and work areas after cleaning to confirm they meet hygiene standards and are free from debris.
- Report any issues affecting cleaning standards, defective equipment, or maintenance concerns to the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Notify the Cleaning Supervisor of any shortages of cleaning chemicals, equipment, or consumables.
- Comply with all company hygiene, food safety, health and safety, and quality procedures at all times.
- Work as part of the cleaning team to ensure production areas are ready for the next day's operations.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an industrial or food production cleaning role is desirable, but full training will be provided.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work night shifts on a consistent basis.
- A strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills.
