Warehouse, Delivery & Assembly Operative
Location: Rathcoole, Dublin 24
Employment type: Part-time, variable-hours / call-out basis
Typical working day: One day on the weekend, depending on confirmed customer orders
Septimius Properties is seeking a reliable and practical Warehouse, Delivery & Assembly Operative to support our growing furniture business.
The role combines warehouse order preparation, furniture delivery and in-home assembly. Work will normally take place on Saturdays and will be scheduled based on customer orders. Some weeks may have no shift, while busier periods may require additional hours or occasional alternative days.
Main responsibilities
- Review assigned customer orders
- Locate and pick the correct furniture from warehouse storage
- Safely operate warehouse equipment where trained and authorised
- Check products, quantities, packaging and order details before loading
- Load and secure furniture safely in the company van
- Deliver furniture to customers across Dublin and surrounding areas
- Assemble selected furniture in customers’ homes where assembly has been purchased
- Obtain delivery confirmation and update order statuses
- Report damaged, missing or incorrect stock immediately
- Assist with scheduled furniture returns and collections
- Keep the warehouse, loading area, van and equipment clean and organised
- Open and secure the warehouse when assigned
Essential requirements
- Must satisfy the company van insurer’s eligibility requirements; under the current policy, applicants must be aged 25 or over
- Full, valid Irish or insurer-approved driving licence
- Confident and experienced driving a commercial van
- Physically capable of safely lifting and moving furniture as part of a two-person team
- Available to work weekends on a flexible, call-out basis
- Comfortable using a tablet and basic order-management software
- Reliable, punctual and able to work without constant supervision
- Professional and respectful when working inside customers’ homes
- Good spoken English and clear communication skills
- Right to work in Ireland
Highly desirable
- Valid forklift operator training certificate and practical forklift experience
- Manual-handling certification
- Previous furniture delivery, warehouse, removals or assembly experience
- Experience assembling flat-pack or household furniture
- Familiarity with Shopify POS or similar order systems
Forklift certification is not mandatory for every applicant, but candidates with recognised forklift training and relevant experience will be strongly preferred.
Working arrangement
- Paid hourly for hours worked
- Mainly one day on the weekend
- Shifts scheduled according to confirmed furniture orders
- Variable hours; work is not guaranteed every week
- Training and operating procedures will be provided
- Work will normally be completed as part of a two-person delivery team
