We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to provide care and support to residents across two residential settings within our organisation.
The successful candidate must be flexible and available to work a range of shifts, including day, evening, night and weekend shifts, and must be willing and able to work across both locations as required.
Key Duties
- Providing personal care and support to residents while maintaining their dignity, privacy and independence.
- Assisting residents with activities of daily living.
- Assisting with medication in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Reporting resident care needs, concerns and changes in condition to the nurse on duty.
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals.
- Preparing light meals when required.
- Laundry and associated household duties.
- General cleaning and maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment.
- Providing practical support and assistance to residents as required.
- Completing relevant records and reporting appropriately to the nurse on duty.
- Working cooperatively with nursing, care and support staff across both settings.
- Undertaking other reasonable duties associated with the care and support of residents.
Requirements
Applicants should:
- Have previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar care role.
- Be familiar with Dementia Care
- Have experience providing personal care.
- Be comfortable working independently when required.
- Be available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.
- Be able to work across two separate residential settings within the organisation.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be reliable, flexible and capable of working as part of a small care team.
- Be able to prepare and cook a meal.
- Have a good standard of spoken and written English.
- Have Excellent Communication skills
Pay: €14.15-€16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39.0 per week
