McGraths Pharmacy, Sixmilebridge are currently looking for a full-time QUALIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN with experience working in an Irish community pharmacy dispensary setting. The ideal candidate must fully understand all the HSE schemes and have a full understanding of the operational tasks expected of this role. IPU Pharmacy Technician course or Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies is essential. The job on offer is full-time, with a five day week, working two Saturdays out of every four. Saturdays are half days (9.30am-1.30pm). If working Saturday you would have a day off during the week. You would be working 40 hours one week and 36 hours the next week.
The right candidate must be committed to delivering excellent patient care, must be hardworking and enjoy working in a busy pharmacy. The candidate must have excellent organisational skills and must be a good team player.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Preparing and dispensing prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Providing appropriate OTC medicines
- Patient counselling
- Maintaining good stock control including stock rotation, checking expiry dates and ordering from correct suppliers
- Dealing with the PCRS with regard to claims and payments
- Ordering from the High Tech hub and managing queries relating to orders
- Dealing with customer and supplier phone orders and queries
Essential requirements:
- Qualified Pharmacy Technician
- Experience working in an Irish community pharmacy dispensary setting
- Fluent English
- Willing to work part of a team but also to take initiative and work in a confidential environment
- A friendly helpful attitude
