Workshop Technician Role
About Us
Composites Testing Laboratory (CTL) is an accredited testing laboratory for advanced composite materials and is the oldest independent test laboratory within the EU specializing in composite materials testing. CTL offer customers a fast, flexible and cost-competitive service, which includes mechanical, environmental and physical testing. We provide world class static, fatigue and impact testing. CTL provide testing services to customers operating in aerospace, renewable energy, automotive, medical device and space sectors. ISO17025 and NADCAP approved testing laboratory.
Job Summary
We are seeking to hire a Workshop Technician who will be responsible for preparing specimens, performing tests, and generating test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing test specimens – machining, tabbing, strain gauging
- Performing tests
- Development of test methods and operating procedures
- Evaluation & Analysis of test results
- Generating test reports
- Participation in Accreditation and Customer Audits
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
Experience:
- Previous experience in mechanical testing or laboratory work would be advantageous however not essential.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint) is needed.
Skills:
- A technical mindset and hands on approach is required.
- Excellent attention to detail is required.
- Positive can-do attitude
Other:
- The prospective candidate must be able to demonstrate a professional approach, be self-motivated, a good team-worker and communicator, and will be enthusiastic and willing to update their skill set in the company's core business areas
- Individuals will be required to be mobile, with frequent standing, bending, reaching grasping, stooping and walking are requirements for role.
- Effective team member.
- Open to ongoing learning, feedback, development and cross training.
- Fluency in Irish is desirable but not essential.
