Traffic Planner
Virginia International Logistics is seeking a proactive Traffic Planner to join our busy operations team. The role involves planning driver workloads, coordinating national and international routes, and ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant transport operations across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Key Duties
- Plan and assign daily workloads, communicating schedules clearly to drivers
- Manage delivery times and route planning across Ireland, UK & Europe
- Operate and update our in-house system, MoveIT
- Assist with scheduling vehicles for maintenance and service checks
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Support management with ad-hoc operational tasks as require
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar transport or logistics role
- Strong IT skills, ideally with experience using operational systems (MoveIT advantageous)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to changing demands
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of the haulage/logistics sector
Desirable
- Qualification in logistics or related discipline
- Knowledge of Irish, UK & European networks
- Understanding of import/export processes and transport regulations
- Awareness of EU Working Time and Tachograph regulations
