Notum is seeking an Assigned Certifier to join our dynamic and expanding team. This is an opportunity for a site-experienced professional to take ownership of inspections and compliance across a live, varied project pipeline — working with real autonomy on site and dealing directly with contractors, while still drawing on the support and mentoring of a senior, experienced practice.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and co-ordination of BC(A)R compliance documentation, including Commencement Notices, Certificates of Compliance, and project Inspection Plans
Conduct and record site inspections in accordance with agreed inspection frequency plans and the Code of Practice
Review contractor and sub-contractor compliance submissions, including construction details, product data sheets, and ancillary certificates
Liaise directly with design teams, main contractors, and specialist sub-consultants on compliance and certification matters, managing these relationships independently
Maintain and update the Inspection Plan and associated project records using Zutec and the Building Control Management System (BCMS)
Assist with the preparation of Certificates of Compliance on Completion for upload to the relevant local building control authority
Attend BC(A)R Review Meetings and milestone inspections as required
Comfortable working independently on site, managing contractor relationships and exercising sound judgement with minimal day-to-day supervision
RIAI Registered Architect
Minimum 3 years of post-qualification site experience on Irish construction projects
Working knowledge of BC(A)R 2014 (SI No. 9 of 2014) and the role and duties of the Assigned Certifier
Familiarity with the Irish Building Regulations
Experience reading, interpreting, and reviewing construction drawings and specifications
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail in compliance documentation
General IT proficiency, including Microsoft 365 and digital record-keeping / CDE platforms
