Deli Assistant – Job Description
Cromane Country Store
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and customer-focused Deli Assistant to join our team.
The successful candidate will work as part of our deli and food service team and must be comfortable working in a busy retail food environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving hot and cold food to a high standard
- Preparing sandwiches, rolls, salads and other deli products
- Assisting with food preparation, cooking and baking
- Maintaining attractive and well-stocked deli displays
- Providing friendly and efficient customer service
- Following all food safety, HACCP and hygiene procedures
- Cleaning and maintaining deli, kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas
- Monitoring stock levels, rotation, dates and reducing food waste
- Following instructions and completing daily tasks as directed
- Working closely with other members of the deli and shop team
- Assisting with other duties within the store when required
Requirements
- Previous deli, kitchen, café or food preparation experience is essential
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling
- Friendly and confident when dealing with customers
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
- Able to take direction and work independently when required
- Comfortable working in a busy environment
- Flexible availability to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends
Hours & Pay
Hours will be arranged as part of a 7-day roster.
Rate of pay is negotiable depending on experience.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working with food and customers, and would like to become a valued part of our deli team.
Pay: €14.15-€16.75 per hour
