We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Agricultural Advisor to join our growing team. This is a key leadership role supporting farmers in navigating and managing major agricultural support schemes, including BISS, CRISS, ECO Schemes, TAMS Grants, and the ACRES Scheme.
The successful candidate will provide strategic, technical, and compliance guidance to clients, ensuring maximum benefit from available funding opportunities while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee client applications for BISS (Basic Income Support for Sustainability)
- Advise on and administer CRISS (Complementary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability)
- Support planning, eligibility assessment, and claims for ECO Schemes
- Prepare and manage applications for TAMS (Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme) grants
- Provide advisory services and compliance support under the ACRES (Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme)
- Conduct on-farm visits and prepare detailed advisory reports
- Ensure timely submission of applications and scheme documentation
- Monitor regulatory updates and communicate changes to clients
- Maintain accurate client records and scheme compliance documentation
- Mentor junior advisors and support team development
Requirements
- Degree in Agricultural Science, Agri-Business, or related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in agricultural advisory services
- Strong working knowledge of BISS, CRISS, ECO Schemes, TAMS, and ACRES
- Proven experience preparing successful scheme applications
- Excellent understanding of Irish agricultural policy and compliance requirements
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with Department of Agriculture systems
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Full clean driving licence
Desirable
- Previous agricultural advisory experience
- Previous experience managing a client portfolio
- Knowledge of nutrient management planning
