We are seeking a skilled and organised Chef de Partie to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing and assembling high-quality ingredients, sandwiches, salads, soups, and other deli items that complement our bakery’s artisan offerings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and passionate about fresh, made-from-scratch food.
Key Responsibilities
Plans menus, prepares, seasons, and cooks foodstuffs or oversees their preparation, and monitors the quality of finished dishes
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station, following all health and safety regulations
Monitor ingredient inventory and notify management when supplies are low
Collaborate with the team to create new menu items and specials
Assist with plating, packaging, and presentation of lunch/deli items for service
Support other kitchen staff as needed, including bakery prep during slower periods
Health, Safety & Food Standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace following all health and safety guidelines
Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
Support maintenance and cleaning of all equipment
Adhere to regular cleaning schedules and ensure all areas meet Artybaker hygiene standards
Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards in line with Artybaker and HSE requirements and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
Qualifications, Key Skills & Attributes
Previous experience in a prep or line cook role, preferably in a bakery, deli, or café setting
Strong knife skills and knowledge of food safety and sanitation
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, visually appealing food
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 25kg
Understanding of food safety practices
Excellent time management skills
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Culinary training or formal food preparation education
Experience with sandwiches, salads, charcuterie, or other deli-style items
Knowledge of artisan breads and baked goods
