The Award Winning Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, in the vibrant town of Tralee, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Bartender to join our outstanding team!
The hotel bartender is responsible for providing professional and engaging service to hotel guests in the bars/lounge areas in accordance with current legislation.
Job responsibilities include:

To ensure 4* standards of service are achieved at all times.

To perform in a professional and courteous manner with all customers, providing the highest level of customer care at all times

To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety for yourself, all employees and guests on the premises.

To report to duty on time, in the correct uniform and to wear a name badge and Ballygarry pin

To maintain guest privacy and confidentiality at all times

To be informed on departmental SOP Manual & follow guidelines and procedures set out in these

Greeting and assisting guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
-
Taking and serving drink orders promptly and accurately.
-
Mixing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, following standard recipes.

Checking identification of guests to verify legal drinking age and refusing service if necessary.
-
Recommending and describing various beverages and their ingredients to guests.
-
Up-selling and promoting specialty drinks, featured wines, and other beverage options.
-
Keeping the bar area clean, neat, and well-stocked at all times.

Restocking glassware, utensils, and other bar supplies as needed.
-
Handling cash and credit card transactions, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions. To report any discrepancies to management.

Following all hotel policies and procedures, as well as alcoholic beverage laws and regulations.

Monitoring and managing the bar's inventory, including ordering supplies and conducting regular stock takes.

Collaborating with other hotel staff members to provide exceptional guest service and resolve any customer complaints or issues.

Attending training sessions and staying updated on new products, drink recipes, and industry trends.

Adhering to responsible alcohol service guidelines and ensuring guests are not excessively intoxicated.

Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including bar equipment and storage areas.

To maintain cleaning schedules

To be flexible for long shifts.

To be efficient and hygienic in the serving of food

Have reasonable knowledge of food and beverage & be able to upsell food & drink to guests.

To have reasonable knowledge of wine
-
To participate in Buffet service during events and ensure proper clearing of plates & cutlery and buffet area after service.

To ensure you follow closing down procedures at the end of night shift ensuring work area is prepared for next day.

To maintain the prescribed standards of hygiene regarding all equipment used in the bars.

To report any maintenance problems

Check of function room especially toilets and dance floor for any spillages to prevent any accidents
-
All bar staff are to carry a bottle and wine opener for their shift.
Overall, the hotel bartender plays a vital role in creating a positive and enjoyable experience for hotel guests by providing excellent customer service and preparing high-quality beverages.
You must remain totally flexible in your position and may be required to carry out other tasks as directed by management.
