The Mater Private Network is seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiotherapy Dosimetrist to join our Radiotherapy Physics team at the Mid-Western Regional Oncology Centre in Limerick.
In this vital clinical role, you will work collaboratively with physicists, radiation oncologists, and radiation therapists to design and execute high-quality radiotherapy treatment plans. You will directly impact patient care by translating complex clinical goals into safe, precise, and effective radiation treatment instructions in line with international best practices.

Treatment Planning: Perform external beam radiotherapy treatment planning for all routine techniques (including IMRT, IGRT, and modern modalities), ensuring alignment with departmental procedures.

Clinical Consultation: Advise Radiation Oncologists on plan modifications, translate desired goals into execution instructions for radiation therapists, and perform patient-specific dose calculations and measurements.

Workflow & Quality Control: Manage the treatment planning workflow to ensure timely scheduling, assist in checking/verifying plans, and participate in quality assurance and audit structures.

Innovation & Development: Contribute to the clinical implementation of new protocols, support radiotherapy clinical trials, and participate in research and development projects.

Education & Training: Provide guidance, support, and training to new staff, including junior dosimetrists, physicists, and radiation therapists.
Education & Qualifications:

A recognized first or second-class honours degree (NFQ Level 8) with Physical Science as a major subject.

OR a recognized first or second-class honours degree (NFQ Level 8) in Radiation Therapy.
Professional Knowledge & Skills:

Deep working knowledge of the radiotherapy process and international best practice guidelines.

Experience or familiarity with modern treatment techniques (IMRT, IGRT) and advanced techniques (SBRT/SABR planning).

Strong understanding of radiation dose measurement detectors, quality assurance practices, and risk assessment/safety procedures (HIQA, EPA, JCI standards).

Excellent IT, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage a busy workload efficiently.
