Vision Sports Ireland are seeking a Health Promotion & Physical Activity Coordinator to play a central role in delivering high-quality health and wellbeing programmes for Vision Sports Ireland members. This role will work closely with the VSI team and Vision Ireland service staff to deliver our flagship health promotion intervention, 'I Can', while also embedding physical activity as a core service offering across the organisation.
Working alongside the National Sports Development Manager, the Coordinator will design, deliver, and evaluate innovative programmes that support members to meet national physical activity guidelines, improve lifestyle habits, and enhance overall wellbeing.
This is a key position within Vision Sports Ireland, contributing directly to increased participation, improved health outcomes, and stronger community pathways for people who are blind or vision impaired.
Skills and Experience

Proven track record in programme, membership, or stakeholder management, including record keeping and report writing.

Experience working within the disability sector (advantageous).

Knowledge of physical activity, community initiatives, and inclusive participation.

Understanding of the health promotion and physical activity sector, including the role of Local Sports Partnerships, National Governing Bodies, and other key stakeholders.

Planning and Coordination Skills

Lead the rollout of the 'I Can' initiative, including tracking pre and post programme evaluations to measure impact.

Work with colleagues to develop clear pathways into Vision Sports Ireland programmes and community based activities nationwide.

Demonstrate experience in programme coordination, data tracking, membership management, and reporting.

Strong ability to monitor, analyse, and interpret data to inform programme development.

Contribute to the day-to-day operations of Vision Sports Ireland.

Person Specification

Thirdlevel qualification (minimum degree) in sports, recreation, leisure management, health promotion, or a related discipline.

Experience coordinating programmes in the sports, physical activity, community, or health sectors.

Experience delivering health promotion interventions to individuals or groups.

Training in motivational interviewing, personal coaching, or similar behaviour change approaches (desirable).

Experience in health behaviour change and supporting individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply creativity and sound judgement.

Excellent communication skills-written, verbal, and presentation.

Passion for physical activity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Strong IT skills, including CRM systems and office applications.

Confident in social media and marketing for programme promotion.

Ability to work within a diverse, dynamic, high performing team.

Eligibility to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.
