Encon, a leading Building, Retrofit & Renewables Contractor in Ireland, continues to expand its delivery of high-quality building, retrofit, and energy efficiency projects across the South and South East Regions. As part of this growth, Encon is seeking a Lead Window Fitter and Fitters Mate to support new build, domestic and commercial retrofit, and façade programmes across multiple projects and standards.
This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality construction and upgrade works to residential and commercial properties while supporting national sustainability and climate action objectives.
Role Overview
This position is a site-based role responsible for carrying out a wide range of window-fitting work across new-build and retrofit projects in residential and commercial properties. The role ensures that all works are completed to a high standard, in line with project specifications, building regulations, and health and safety requirements.
This position involves on-site work and in-live homes, interpretation of drawings, quality control, and collaboration with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Carry out elements of fitting windows
- Respond to and implement change orders as required on-site
- Work alongside or manage subcontractors where necessary
- Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses, and non-conformances are fully reported
- Ensure compliance with all building regulations and standards
- Adhere to all Health & Safety guidelines and procedures
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship at all times
- Use and maintain tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of materials required
Requirements
- Full clean driving licence (essential)
- Valid Safe Pass (essential)
- Manual Handling certification (essential)
- Previous experience in window fitting (essential)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and tools
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Physically fit and comfortable working on-site
- Good level of written and spoken English
