Trainee Sales Executive — iMotors (formerly Inishowen Motors)
Location: Donegal | Type: Full-time, permanent | Experience: None required
Your way into the motor trade
Most people who want a career in car sales are told to come back when they've got experience. This is the role that gives it to you.
iMotors is Donegal's No.1 Kia and Nissan dealer — an award-winning sales team, a top-performing aftersales department, and a business that keeps investing in its people and its facilities. We're expanding fast, and we're creating a Trainee Sales Executive role for someone who wants to learn this business properly, from the ground up.
You'll start by supporting our Sales Executives and learning how a dealership actually works. As you prove yourself, you'll take on your own customers — with the clear goal of progressing to a full Sales Executive role with your own targets and commission.
What you'll be doing
From day one — supporting the sales team
- Greeting customers, handling first enquiries and making sure nobody is left waiting
- Preparing vehicles for handover and delivery, and helping present the forecourt and showroom
- Booking and confirming test drives, and accompanying customers on them
- Managing paperwork, taxing and registrations, and keeping our system up to date
- Following up on enquiries, web leads and customer calls
- Learning the product — Kia and Nissan, new and used, finance and add-on products
As you develop — building your own business
- Handling your own enquiries under the guidance of an experienced executive
- Working your own customer follow-ups and repeat business
- Taking on your own targets and moving into a full Sales Executive role
What we're looking for
We're not looking for experience. We're looking for someone worth training.
- A genuine interest in cars and in a long-term career in the motor trade
- Excellent people skills — you enjoy talking to people and you're comfortable approaching them first
- A strong work ethic and the willingness to do the unglamorous jobs well while you learn
- Reliability and attention to detail — customers notice both
- Confidence with computers and basic systems
- Ambition, and the drive to be running your own deals as soon as you're ready
- Full, clean driving licence (essential)
Previous customer service, retail or hospitality experience is an advantage but is not required.
What we offer
- A real progression path to Sales Executive — this is a route into sales, not a dead-end support role
- Comprehensive in-house training and manufacturer-accredited product training
- Mentoring from an award-winning sales team
- Competitive salary, plus the opportunity to earn commission as you take on your own customers
- The chance to grow with a rapidly expanding business
