Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Toolroom Engineering Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, advanced manufacturing environment, supporting the design, build, and maintenance of high-precision tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the toolroom team in the design, development, and maintenance of tooling and moulds
- Assist with engineering documentation, including drawings, process sheets, and technical reports
- Work closely with senior engineers and toolroom to ensure efficient tool build and validation
- Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of tooling issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in toolroom processes and performance
- Support tool trials, validation activities, and production start-ups
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies
- Liaise with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and project management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Good knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment
Desirable Skills
- Internship or placement experience in a manufacturing or toolroom environment
- Familiarity with tooling and moulding processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
