We are currently seeking an experienced Service & Commissioning Engineer to join our clients growing team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with experience in fire, life safety, and electronic security systems to work with a diverse client base across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and public sector environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning, servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and certification of a range of fire and security systems while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Maintenance
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service visits on customer sites.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on fire alarm, CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, and nurse call systems.
- Ensure all systems operate effectively and meet client requirements.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and provide technical support when required.
Commissioning
- Commission and test newly installed fire and security systems.
- Configure system software and control panels to customer specifications.
- Verify system functionality and performance prior to handover.
- Support project teams during installation and commissioning phases.
Compliance & Documentation
- Complete commissioning certificates, maintenance reports, and service documentation accurately.
- Ensure compliance with current Irish and European standards, health & safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of works completed and recommendations for remedial actions.
- Issue certification and test documentation as required.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Managers, Installation Engineers, and fellow Service Engineers.
- Assist with troubleshooting and technical support across projects.
- Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota (approximately 1 week in every 4).
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Service and/or Commissioning Engineer role within fire, life safety, or security systems.
- Strong electrical knowledge supported by a recognised electrical apprenticeship, trade qualification, or equivalent technical certification.
- Experience servicing and commissioning fire alarm systems.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
