Window Fabricator
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Window Fabricator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and preparing high-quality window units in a factory environment.
This is a full-time position (39 hours per week) and requires experience using hand tools, power tools, fabrication machinery, and CNC equipment.
Key ResponsibilitiesFabrication & Assembly
- Measure, cut, and prepare aluminium, uPVC, or timber profiles according to production specifications.
- Assemble window frames, sashes, and related components.
- Install gaskets, seals, hinges, handles, locks, and other hardware.
- Fit and secure glazing units into completed frames.
- Ensure all products are assembled to the required quality standards.
Machinery Operation
- Operate CNC machines, cutting saws, drilling equipment, and other fabrication machinery.
- Set up and adjust machinery to meet production requirements.
- Carry out routine equipment checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
Technical Interpretation
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD drawings, job sheets, and manufacturing specifications.
- Follow production schedules accurately and efficiently.
- Take precise measurements to ensure product accuracy.
Quality Control
- Inspect completed window units for accuracy, alignment, finish, and structural integrity.
- Identify and rectify fabrication defects before products are dispatched.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality standards.
Health & Safety
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
RequirementsEssential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in window fabrication.
- Experience manufacturing aluminium, uPVC, or timber windows.
- Experience operating CNC machines, cutting saws, drilling equipment, and other fabrication machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
- Proficient in the safe use of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Physically fit for a factory-based production environment.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant workshop training or practical manufacturing experience is desirable.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a window manufacturing environment.
- Experience using CNC-controlled fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures within a manufacturing setting.
