Job Requirements:
Experience
A Senior Architectural Technologist has a proven track record of taking full ownership of work packages, managing them independently from concept design through to construction stage deliverables.
They are responsible for producing conceptual and sketch designs, preparing presentation materials, and ensuring that all work complies with relevant standards and is practical to build.
Key Competencies
- Advanced technical design, documentation and detailing experience.
- Advanced construction knowledge, regulatory compliance and building performance.
- Advanced BIM and digital design tool proficiency.
- Client engagement and relationship building.
- Cost control and resource allocation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor or higher degree of Architectural Technology or industry related equivalent.
- Circa 6 - 8 years of post qualification experience and be a member of RIAI, CIAT or other equivalent professional body
- Expert in architectural software such as Revit, BIM 360, AutoCad SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.
- Strong understanding of BIM processes and tools.
- Strong understanding of current Building Planning Regulations and the application of these and similar variations internationally.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales / Business Development
- Actively promote the Company to potential clients and industry partners.
- Actively participate in industry events to represent and promote the practice and build industry networks.
- Make conscious effort to build relationships with external stakeholders.
- Input to project targets and timelines
- Input to submission, bids and business opportunities
- Developing understanding of services provided
- Understanding of the practical application of the construction process
- Inputs to appointments and contracts, developing understanding of the implications for the practice and always mindful of protecting the interests of the practice.
- Management
- Adhere to governance and ethical standards of the company.
- Mentor, coach and develop junior employees
- Be familiar with and assist in managing project personnel and workload.
- Assist developing CPDs / lessons learnt.
- Assist in the annual performance reviews of team.
- Run an internal team to ensure effective delivery of projects in line with agreed timeline.
Delivery
- Own and drive the technical delivery of projects, accountable for quality, compliance, and timely execution.
- Responsible for operating as a designated project lead and managing the delivery of a project(s) end to end with minimal supervision.
- Site visits including overseas travel to provide construction, technical and architectural support in line with the agreed project scope.
- Manage and assign project resources effectively.
- Report on project status and resource requirements to senior management.
- Ensure projects are delivered effectively, meeting agreed scope, quality standards, and timelines.
- Apply advanced technical design knowledge and expertise across all project stages.
- Understand and consistently apply knowledge of the contractual obligations of all parties across various procurement routes.
- Coordinate and liaise with consultants, contractors, and clients at a project level.
