Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to support the commercial delivery of public lighting and infrastructure projects. This role will involve preparing accurate cost estimates, managing supplier and subcontractor quotations, supporting contract administration, and contributing to financial and project reporting.
This opportunity is ideal for a commercially driven QS looking to build expertise in public infrastructure, utilities, and commercial cost control while working closely with project, procurement, and production teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and project quotations to support project delivery and tendering.
- Review client requirements, technical drawings, and site information to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Source and manage quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring best value and compliance with project specifications.
- Track and manage commercial quotations using CRM or commercial management systems.
- Support subcontractor management, including evaluation of payment claims and commercial performance.
- Prepare interim valuations, progress claims, and final account submissions in line with contract requirements.
- Compile and substantiate variation claims and extension of time (EOT) claims for client approval.
- Provide cost reporting and financial performance updates to senior management.
- Support tender preparation and submission for major infrastructure and utilities projects.
- Assist with contract management and commercial administration across active projects.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, production, and project teams to support efficient delivery strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role is desirable.
- Valid working rights for Ireland are required.
- Proven experience working both independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
