Registered Nurse
Residential (Specified Purpose Contract)
Purpose of Role:
The role of the Staff Nurse is to provide holistic, person-centred nursing care, promoting optimum independence, enhancing the quality of life for service users with intellectual, physical or sensory disability in all aspects of daily living. They must practice in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct as set out by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and within the policies, guidelines, protocols of the units / settings in which they are employed.

Schedule:
- 13hr shift (paid breaks)
- Shift work over 24/7
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred nursing care in accordance with each resident's assessed needs and personal plan.
- Support residents to attend GP, hospital, outpatient, therapy, and other healthcare appointments.
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.
- Provide specialist nursing interventions including:
- Catheter care and management.
- PEG feeding and enteral nutrition.
- Medication administration and management.
- Wound care and skin integrity management.
- Infection prevention and control.
- Monitoring and responding to changes in residents' health status.
- Support residents with all aspects of their healthcare needs while promoting independence and maximising their abilities.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure all documentation meets professional, organisational, and regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively with families, advocates, GPs, allied health professionals, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Promote positive behaviour support, safeguarding, and respectful risk management practices.
- Support the implementation of HIQA standards, organisational policies, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in audits, clinical governance, medication management, and incident review processes.
Pay Scale:
€36,167 to €55,723 (linked to HSE PayScale)
Personal Profile:
- This position is not eligible for employment permit sponsorship. Applicants must hold and maintain an independent legal right to work in Ireland for the duration of their employment. Essential Requirements:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Qualification in one of the following:
- Intellectual Disability Nursing (RNID)
- General Nursing (RGN)
- Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing (RPN)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to person-centred care, dignity, and safeguarding.
- Full clean driving licence
