Séamus Nolan Coach Hire Ltd is looking for a reliable and conscientious Evening Fleet Preparation Operative / Coach Cleaner to assist with the cleaning, preparation and general upkeep of our coach and minibus fleet.
This is more than a general cleaning position. The successful candidate will play an important role in our evening operation, helping to ensure our vehicles are clean, fuelled, presentable and ready for service the following morning.
The Role
The position will primarily involve evening work, generally within the hours of approximately 5:00pm to midnight.
We are flexible regarding the exact working arrangement and would be happy to discuss the number of evenings and hours with the right candidate.
Typical duties will include:
- Cleaning and preparing coaches and minibuses at the end of service
- Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping vehicle interiors
- Cleaning dashboards, seats and other interior surfaces
- Cleaning interior windows and glass
- Emptying bins and checking vehicles for items left behind
- Washing vehicle exteriors
- Refuelling vehicles as required
- Ensuring vehicles are properly prepared for the following day's work
- Identifying and reporting any damage, defects or cleanliness issues
- Moving and positioning vehicles within our premises, where appropriately licensed
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe and organised fleet/yard environment
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working independently
- Thorough and takes pride in their work
- Able to carry out physical cleaning and vehicle preparation duties
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Flexible in relation to evening working hours
- Able to identify and report problems rather than simply completing the cleaning work
Previous experience in coach, bus, truck, commercial vehicle or fleet cleaning/preparation would be an advantage but is not essential.
Category D Licence
A full Category D bus/coach driving licence is highly desirable, although it is not essential.
A candidate with a Category D licence who is suitably experienced and competent would be able to assist with moving and positioning coaches and minibuses as part of the evening fleet preparation process.
Applicants should state clearly whether they currently hold a Category D licence when applying.
Pay
€17.00–€19.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications and the responsibilities the successful candidate is able to undertake.
Candidates with relevant fleet experience and/or a Category D licence enabling them to safely move our vehicles would be considered towards the higher end of the pay range.
Working Hours
Primarily evening work between approximately 5:00pm and midnight.
The exact number of hours and evenings can be discussed with the successful candidate.
