HGV Driver will safely and efficiently operate heavy commercial vehicles to transport and deliver goods across designated regional and national routes. The candidate is responsible for vehicle safety inspections, accurate documentation, and complete compliance with Irish and EU road transport laws.
*Key Responsibilities*
Operate Category CE heavy goods vehicles over short and long-distance transport routes.
Complete daily pre-and-post-trip vehicle safety inspections (checking tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, and secure load safety).Load and unload cargo or oversee safe loading/unloading procedures at client sites and depots.
Maintain compliance with European Union and Road Safety Authority (RSA) driving hours and working time regulations.
Record all transit data accurately using digital tachograph cards and company logistics software.
Communicate punctually with transport managers regarding traffic delays, route changes, or delivery issues.
Ensure all shipping papers, delivery dockets, and customs/transit receipts are signed and safely returned.
*Requirements & Qualifications*
Driving License: Full, valid Irish or recognized international Category CE (Arctic) driving license with a clean driving record.
Driver CPC: Valid and up-to-date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card.
Tachograph: Valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven professional driving experience operating heavy commercial trucks.
Compliance Knowledge: Thorough understanding of RSA/EU driving limit laws and basic vehicle maintenance.
Language: Proficiency in English (spoken and written) for safety compliance and client communication
Salary: €37,544 per annum.
Hours: 40 per week.
