Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible)

Tracton Biodiversity Group is an award winning, community environmental group affiliated to Knocknamanagh CLG, T/A Tracton Community Council We are now seeking a part-time Project Officer to support the ongoing work of Tracton Biodiversity Group (TBG). The role will focus on ensuring the successful implementation of projects that align with the group’s environmental and community objectives, securing funding for ongoing projects and continuing to build relationships with funders and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivering Local Projects & Outcomes:
Manage the planning and delivery of funded projects, ensuring targets are met and reported to funders and community.
Prioritize community engagement, ensuring projects directly benefit the community and environment and foster local environmental welbeing.
2. Fundraising & Grant Development:
Research and identify relevant funding opportunities, focusing on grants of €10,000+.
Write compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with TBG’s goals in environmental conservation, water quality and community engagement.
Manage grant submissions, deadlines and reporting.
3. Stakeholder & Funder Relations:
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with funders and key stakeholders,
local organizations, community members and groups to enhance community-driven environmental initiatives.
Organise and deliver community information events, workshops, and awareness campaigns on biodiversity and funding topics.
Qualifications:
- Third-level qualification in environmental science, ecology, biodiversity, conservation, environmental management, or related field.
- Full clean driving licence and access to own transport.
Experience Desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and successful project delivery.
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development work preferably in the nonprofit or environmental sector.
- Experience working with farming communities and understanding of agricultural practices.
Skills:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong abilities in relationship building
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, PPT, Excel and digital communication platforms
· Awareness of Irish biodiversity and conservation issues
· Passion for community impact and environmental stewardship.
