Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Key Account Manager to drive growth across key grocery multiple accounts in Ireland and the UK. This role is responsible for developing strategic partnerships, delivering profitable sales growth, and managing the full commercial agenda across assigned accounts. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of the FMCG food sector, coupled with a proven ability to influence at buyer level and deliver against demanding targets. Working cross functionally with all the key stakeholders to bring growth opportunities to market will be key to delivering success in the role. This opportunity will offer a clear career path into the wider Grocery market across Uk & Ireland for the candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management & Relationship Development
Lead day-to-day management of key national accounts within Irish and UK grocery multiples.
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with buyers and key stakeholders.
Develop joint business plans (JBPs) aligned with customer and company objectives.
Act as the primary point of contact for all commercial and operational matters.
Commercial Strategy & Execution
Deliver agreed sales, margin, and market share targets across assigned accounts.
Identify growth opportunities through range expansion, promotions, and category development initiatives.
Negotiate pricing, and promotional plans to maximize profitability.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform strategy.
P&L Ownership & Financial Management
Take full ownership of account-level performance.
Manage pricing & promotional strategies to ensure profitable growth.
Deliver accurate financial reporting and performance analysis against budget.
Ensure alignment between volume growth and margin delivery.
Forecasting & Demand Planning
Lead the forecasting process for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with supply chain teams.
Analyse sales data, trends, and promotional performance to refine forecasts.
Collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, product, supply chain, and finance teams to execute plans effectively.
Support new product development (NPD) launches and ensure strong in-market execution.
Align internal stakeholders around account strategies and priorities.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a KAM/KAE within FMCG, preferably in food manufacturing.
Strong track record managing Irish and UK grocery multiple accounts.
Demonstrated commercial acumen.
Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
Highly analytical with strong forecasting and financial planning capabilities.
Ability to manage complexity and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Excel and sales data analysis tools & customer portals
