AIM Support Worker – Temporary Position
Muddy Boots Outdoor Preschool is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated AIM Support Worker to join our friendly team.
This is a temporary position supporting a child within our outdoor preschool environment, where children learn through nature, exploration and play.

About Us
Muddy Boots Outdoor Preschool is an outdoor early years setting based in Clarinbridge, Co. Galway. We believe children thrive through meaningful experiences in nature and provide a nurturing, child-led environment where learning takes place both outdoors and in our purpose-designed indoor spaces.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring AIM Support Worker to join our team on a temporary contract to provide additional support to a child attending our preschool.
Contract Details
- Temporary Contract
- 38-week preschool year
- 8 weeks of holiday camps
- Monday to Friday
- Working hours: 9:00am – 2:00pm
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Provide high-quality support to a child under the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM).
- Encourage the child's participation in all aspects of preschool life.
- Support the child's independence, communication, confidence and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with the Room Leader, Manager and wider staff team.
- Assist with planning and adapting activities to ensure they are inclusive and accessible.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate observations and records where required.
- Follow all Tusla, AIM, safeguarding and service policies and procedures.
- Participate fully in outdoor learning experiences in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Support the wider preschool team as appropriate while maintaining the child's individual support needs.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A recognised Early Childhood Care and Education qualification (minimum QQI Level 5).
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive, flexible and caring attitude.
- A willingness to work outdoors throughout the year.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Garda Vetting (or willingness to undergo vetting).
Desirable
- Experience working within an AIM role.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs.
- Knowledge of Aistear and Síolta.
- First Aid and Manual Handling certification.
