Overview: Solas Medical is a modern professional GP surgery located in Ballyboden Primary Care Centre. Our wonderful team of medical administrators, nurses and doctors provide compassionate and expert medical care to the surrounding area from a modern purpose-built facility.
We are currently looking to recruit a medical administrator for a 10-month fixed term contract to cover leave for an existing team member.
Medical administrators support day to day operations at the surgery by performing administrative tasks and ensuring high-quality customer service to all our patients. The successful candidate should be able to multitask, prioritise and handle sensitive confidential information, with exceptional communication skills and the ability to perform "behind the scenes" tasks.
One year experience working in a previous administrative role is essential, however working in a medical surgery is not required as full training will be provided.
There is some flexibility in hours to suit the correct person but approximately 20-30 hours per week.
Additional hours for holiday cover.

Responsibilities:
· Answering phones promptly and professionally in a sometimes-high pressure environment
· To deal and direct patient queries, take detailed messages when necessary and log them appropriately on patient files using practice management software
· Scanning to patient files and handling confidential correspondence discreetly
· Claiming
· Working with and developing spreadsheets
· Handling prescription requests
· Handling cash and sending payment SMS
· Chasing up correspondence/results from hospitals and consultants
· Completing tasks assigned by doctors
· Booking and scheduling appointments – including CDM
· Perform clerical work such as typing documents, printing, copying, etc
· Ordering
Requirements:
· Able to multitask, as sometimes you will be required to perform numerous tasks at once
· Organisational skills: This is key to be able to collect, sort, and arrange documents accordingly, and to keep them safe and accessible only to authorised persons
· Communication skills: Able to relay information correctly either verbally or written.
· Exceptional telephone skills. Answering promptly and directing queries appropriately and clearly
· Be empathic and mindful of each individual patient case and always show compassion.
· An eagerness to learn new tasks and develop new skills
Pay: €28,300.00-€40,000.00 per year
