SSA Solar is a growing Solar PV company preparing for expansion across the Munster region.
We already have a strong pipeline of residential Solar PV projects ready to proceed and are looking for an experienced REC-qualified electrician to play a key role in the next stage of the business.
This position is suitable both for experienced REC electricians seeking a long-term full-time opportunity and for those who may initially prefer a flexible part-time or subcontract arrangement.
We understand that many of the best REC electricians are already employed within the industry. For the right candidate, we can offer the opportunity to become a key technical leader within a growing Solar PV company from an early stage.
We welcome applications from electricians currently employed elsewhere who may be looking for a stronger long-term opportunity, greater responsibility, career progression or improved earning potential.
The Role
Main responsibilities include:
- Testing and commissioning Solar PV systems
- Inspection, QC and compliance checks
- Signing off completed installations (Declaration of Works)
- Ensuring compliance with Safe Electric and Irish electrical standards
- Supporting installation teams with technical guidance and quality control
- Maintaining certification and compliance procedures across projects
- Assisting with the development of company technical standards and processes
Depending on experience and availability, the role can be structured as:
- REC / QC focused certification role
- Full electrical installation and commissioning role
- Flexible part-time position
- Subcontract arrangement
- Full-time permanent position
Flexible Options Available

- 1–2 days per week initially
- Part-time arrangements
- Subcontractor arrangements
- Project-based work
- Full-time long-term employment
This allows experienced electricians to become familiar with our projects and team while maintaining existing commitments if preferred.

Requirements
- Qualified Electrician
- REC Certification (required)
- QC / Verification experience preferred
- Solar PV qualifications preferred (or currently completing them)
- Strong testing, commissioning and fault-finding experience
- Ability to inspect, certify and sign off installations
- Good understanding of Irish electrical standards and Safe Electric requirements
- Solar PV installation experience highly desirable
