Assistant Manager & Room Leader

About the Role:
St. Fidelma’s Childcare Service is seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Manager & Room Leader to join our dedicated Early Learning and Care team.
This is a dual role, combining leadership responsibilities across the service with hands-on practice as Room Leader.
The successful candidate will support the Manager in the daily running of the centre while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care and education.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
- Support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the service
- Act as Designated Manager in the Manager’s absence
- Lead, support, and supervise staff team
- Assist with staff development, mentoring, and supervision
- Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations and service policies
Room Leader Duties
- Lead the daily operation of the Red Room
- Plan and implement a play-based curriculum (Aistear & Síolta)
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Support and guide staff within the room
- Maintain observations and learning records
- Build strong relationships with parents and families
Requirements:
Essential
- Minimum Level 6 in Early Childhood Care & Education (or higher)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an early years setting
- Strong knowledge of Aistear, Síolta, and Tusla regulations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Previous Room Leader or supervisory experience
- Experience in staff mentoring or leadership roles
