Bookmark Letterkenny Shopping Centre and Bookmark Courtyard Shopping Centre are looking for enthusiastic and friendly Sales Assistants to join our growing team.
We’re an independent bookstore with a great selection of books, children’s titles, schoolbooks, stationery and gifts. We pride ourselves on providing friendly, personal service and being an important part of our local community.
This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be helping customers find their next great read, creating attractive displays, processing sales, receiving stock and supporting our busy online operation.
What you’ll be doing
- Welcoming customers and providing excellent, friendly service
- Helping customers choose books, gifts, stationery and other products
- Processing sales and online orders
- Recommending products and identifying opportunities to increase sales
- Stocking shelves and helping with deliveries and stock management
- Creating attractive displays and supporting seasonal promotions
- Helping with author events, schoolbook and Christmas periods
- Picking and packing online orders as required
- Keeping the shop clean, organised and looking its best
- Working as part of a friendly team to achieve our sales and service goals
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, approachable and confident with customers
- Naturally enthusiastic and enjoys working in a busy retail environment
- Organised, reliable and able to work as part of a team
- Comfortable using computers and point-of-sale systems
- Interested in books, stationery, gifts and retail
- Flexible and available to work weekends and during busy periods
Previous retail or customer service experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided.
Social Media & Marketing – An Added Bonus
If you have experience or an interest in social media, content creation, digital marketing or promoting a business online, we’d particularly like to hear from you.
There may be opportunities to get involved with Bookmarks social media, promotions, events and online marketing, so this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both retail and social media/marketing.
