Ideal applicants for the role of Health Care Assistant would have a minimum of QQI Level 5 (or equivalent) as a major award in Healthcare to include the module in Care of the Older Person.
Training in courses including Fire Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding of Vulnerable adults, Coping with behaviours that challenge (Responsive behaviour), and manual and people handling, are an advantage.
Experience of a minimum of one year specifically as a care assistant also desirable and applicants must supply 2 suitable references and be prepared to complete a Garda Vetting application.
