Job Description: Kitchen Porter / Commis Chef

Role Overview
The Kitchen Porter / Commis Chef supports the smooth running of the kitchen by maintaining exceptional cleanliness and assisting with food preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Hygiene & Organisation
Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy, and safe throughout serviceWash pots, pans, utensils, and crockery quickly and efficiently
Maintain cleaning schedules and uphold HACCP standards
Assist with waste disposal, recycling, and general kitchen organisation
Ensure equipment and storage areas are sanitised and well maintained
Food Preparation & Service Support
- Assist chefs with basic prep: chopping, peeling, portioning, and plating
- Help prepare ingredients for daily service and specials
- Follow recipes and instructions with accuracy and care
- Support stock rotation, labelling, and correct food storage
- Maintain high standards of presentation and consistency in every dish
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient service
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with chefs and front‑of‑house staff
Show initiative, reliability, and a willingness to learn
Contribute to a positive, supportive kitchen culture

Experience
- Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential
- Full training provided for the right candidate

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: €14.00-€16.00 per hour
