Microbiology Quality Supervisor
Fitz Scientific is a world class monitoring and testing team that meet and exceed customer expectations. Based in Drogheda Co. Louth we are seeking to recruit a Microbiology Quality Supervisor.
Responsibilities include:
- Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements.
- Calibration records and calibration of equipment – maintenance of the calibration schedule, arranging the completion of internal and external calibrations/verifications and management of the associated records
- Documentation Control and update of SOPs and GOPs
- Routine cleaning procedures
- Validation of cleaning procedures
- Fully comply with all quality control requirements in accordance with our ISO 17025 quality system
- Ensuring MQC/AQC work is completed and investigating/taking appropriate action on any non-conforming results
- Responsible for internal audit processes and external audits (INAB)
- The management of non-conforming work / reporting / investigations
- Conduct daily/weekly spot checks
- Deal with customer queries
- Management of PT schemes – includes annual ordering and scheduling, ensuring samples completed on time, submission of results, trending of results received, and any investigations as required
- Ordering and management of reference strains used for AQC, MQC and IQC
- Assist in the development of new methods and techniques
- Developing technical knowhow, sharing information and knowledge to ensure our team develop high quality skills and capability
- Quality training of new and existing team members
- Contribute to efficiency and improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in microbiology - Essential
2-3 years’ experience working in an ISO 17025 microbiological laboratory - Essential
Technically competent in microbiology analysis
Strong attention to detail, excellent record-keeping, and problem-solving abilities.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and act with integrity.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes. .
Fluent spoken and written English.
Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland.
