Cork Occupational Therapy Services Ltd are currently looking to employ 2 locum Senior Occupational Therapists to work in third level education.
Both roles will involve being part of a dynamic team, supporting students who are registered with the Disability Support Service (DSS) in the University. This post would suit a person who has a wide range of experience across psychosocial, physical and sensory difficulties.
The chosen candidates will work directly with other staff in the DSS, supporting students with a wide range is issues from neurodivergence, physical and sensory difficulties and mental health issues, to engage in their studies and daily occupations associated with life in a third level education. Part of the role will involve completing needs assessments and working as a Disability Advisor to students.
Role: University of Limerick
August - December 2026 @ 5 days = 35 hrs
Jan – March 2027 @ 3 days = 21hrs
Role: Technological University of Shannon
August - December 2026 @ 3 days = 20 hrs
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist
Essential:
· Senior Occupational Therapist certified with a minimum of a BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent
· Registered with CORU
· Membership with AOTI
· Occupational Therapy Private Indemnity Insurance
· Full working Visa (where applicable)
· Excellent verbal and written skills essential in English
· Be able to complete remote campus site visits
Beneficial:
· Experience in working with people who are neurodivergent.
· Experience in supporting people and psychosocial experience.
· Familiar with the statutory body’s regulations and policies
· Computer efficiency especially proficient in office suite, and online communication,
· Be flexible to work remotely or onsite dependent on healthcare guidelines
Not Necessary:
· Experience of working in a university or educational setting is not necessary
